In 2005, while working at Enhanced Realities, we were developing touch screen devices to be used in museums and National Parks.  Below is a page from an educational app we built for the Grand Canyon, which would allow visitors to explore the rock layers making up the walls of the canyon.  Touching on a layer would pronounce its name, highlight the extent of the layer in the picture of the canyon, and talk a bit about the fossils found in that layer.  The application was developed in Flash and ran inside of the hardened version of Internet Explorer I built for the devices.
